White Oak Park

Trillium. Wildflowers. And a particular groundcover. These are plants that exist in just one place in Pennsylvania: White Oak Park. The 810-acre park, located in McKeesport, has attracted the attention of botanists, as well as park enthusiasts. White Oak Park also features primeval tree stands, rugged hills for hikers, and recreation aplenty, in the form of a bocce court, ballfield, playground, off-leash area, and more. The wedding grove is a lovely event space and photo location.

 Did you know? 

  • Angora Gardens is a developmental program offered through Mon Yough Community Services, and in located in century-old farmhouse along Muse Lane in White Oak Park. The program provides training and social rehabilitation to anyone who needs to develop or regain skills necessary to live, work and socialize in their community.

  • Angora Gardens, located in White Oak Park, was known in the 1800’s as Fort Reburn. The Fort was named for the one of its builders, Adam Reburn.

  • At White Oak Park near McKeesport, there are plants that exist nowhere else in the state of Pennsylvania.
