Trail Connectivity Study between White Oak and South Park

wide trail in woods

OVERVIEW

The Allegheny County Parks Foundation envisions a future in which all county parks are connected by world-class trails. The existing regional trail systems that exist near our southern parks and include the Montour Trail, Panhandle Trail and Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) already make partial connections between these parks. Building upon these existing connections make continuous connections possible and the goal of connecting these two parks with non-motorized modes of transportation achievable.

COMMUNITY INPUT

In April 2023 we hosted three meetings to hear community input on creating a trail connection between South Park and White Oak Park. We also had an online survey available for community feedback which closed on May 31, 2023. Thank you to everyone who participated both online and in person.

In 2024, we will host four more community meetings to share the results of the survey data and provide additional opportunities for feedback on the proposed trail connection. This is the last chance to provide feedback on this project. The meetings are free and open to the public.
