Panhandle Connector Trail – Phase 2

Panhandle Connector Trail - Phase 1

OVERVIEW

The Panhandle Connector Trail – Phase 2 will complete a 1.5-mile paved connection linking Settlers Cabin Park to the regional Panhandle Trail. Once finished, the trail will provide a safe, accessible route for walking, running and biking, expanding recreational opportunities and strengthening regional trail connectivity.

This project builds on the first phase of the Panhandle Connector Trail and represents a major step toward improving access to and within Settlers Cabin Park.

This project is part of a broader investment in the park’s future. Alongside trail construction, the Parks Foundation is advancing critical watershed restoration work through the Pinkerton’s Run Abandoned Mine Treatment project, which focuses on improving water quality and restoring 1.9 acres of land impacted by mine subsidence.
