Lyman Kipp

(1929-2014)

Manly, 1980

painted steel

The brightly colored red and blue sculpture follows the Minimalist tradition with its meaning derived entirely by the viewer. Born in Dobbs Ferry, New York and studied at the Pratt Institute, Kipp’s works are in many important collections such as the Whitney Museum of American Art, The Albright-Knox Art Gallery and the High Museum of Art.
