large yellow metal sculpture

Monumental Holistic Image IV, 1980

painted steel

As one begins to ascend the drive to the Hartwood Mansion, a serene yellow sculpture can be seen on the right-hand side. Betty Gold, a California artist whose works can be found in museums in Phoenix and Milwaukee, created this sculpture by cutting a flat rectangle into pieces and reassembled it to form a different shape. This work takes on a new look when viewed by different angles.
