White Oak

This 810–acre park in McKeesport, White Oak Township, is a botanical gem, featuring plants that exist nowhere else in the state. Trillium, wildflowers and particular types of groundcover have attracted the attention of botanists, and the western border of the park is rugged steep hillside that only the most adventurous hikers can explore. Some of the stands of trees are primeval, and the picnic groves have tree names such as Mountain Ash, Juniper, Beech, and Sumac. There is playing field, an off–leash area, a Bocce court, and even a lovely wedding grove.
