Twilight Picnic For The Parks
August, 26, 2017
The rolling lawn of the stately Hartwood Acres Tudor mansion is the setting of the inaugural Twilight Picnic For The Parks, the signature fundraiser of theAllegheny County Parks Foundation.
The mansion is rich in history, as it is the former home to the late John and Mary Flinn Lawrence. Allegheny County Parks acquired their estate to be a living example of 20th century country life in Pittsburgh.
Twilight Picnic For The Parks will assemble fine foods and spirits and an engaging musical performance in the relaxed and picturesque suburban setting of Hartwood Acres Park. This event will immerse guests in the luster of twilight for an evening under the stars, blending summer chic with rustic sophistication, choreographed by our region's premiere event planner, Nancy Byrnes Events. This celebration of a new era for our parks will begin with cocktails on the patio of the Hartwood Acres Mansion. Our guests will move to the expansive lawn as dusk rolls in, to a tent aglow in whimsical lighting that punctuates the serenity of the naturalistic environment of this Allegheny County Parks crown jewel. One of our region's finest chefs will elevate the notion of picnic fare using the finest ingredients and imagination.
